It's Been a While

My last posts were about the NFL Draft, which now seems like ages ago. Football has gone into what I like to call hibernation, and so have I for the most part. I am going to issue a couple of posts per month, I would love to do biweekly posts, but have no time.

Starting in July, I will preview the NFL and College conferences, all of them like I did last year, except I will cover the NFL better this year than last. Some publications are out for the 2008 College Football season, can we say jumping the gun everybody?

On other fronts, future posts will include new coach spotlights, and my general commentary on topics in football, including what I call the biggest form of racism running rampant among all football analysts, so just saying stay tuned! I'm still here!

T Minus 13 days

In just that time, the NFL Draft will have started, 2 weeks from today is the final day. I have been out for a while, so I am late in prepping. Just to let you know I have my lists of players at all positions, yes even kickers and punters, and will get my top picks in at each position, just not in time to post them, so when my Mock Draft hits, you'll have an idea of who I like, not who the experts do.

It should get fun! This draft is very unpredictable like last years, and promises to have a lot of intrigue and suspense!

A lot has gone on!

Well, where to start? Personally I am trying to get a new job, and have interviews, work, relatives and the crisis of turning 30.

A lot is going on in Football-Recruiting, NFL Free Agency, Brett Favre's retirement and the upcoming draft to boot.

Here is what is to come:

BCS National Title Game Prediction

Well it is all down to this. Ohio St vs my LSU Tigers. The pressure to win is all on LSU, as Ohio St is being overlooked. Bad news for LSU. While LSU has the advantage at most positions, the Special Teams and the intangibles go to Ohio St. They have been more consistent and you know who will show up. The OSU team that hammered Michigan will. For LSU it is all about consistency. LSU has not shown it. Sure they pasted Virginia Tech 48-7. But they also lost to Kentucky and Arkansas playing bland football and using incorrect personnel and lack of courage. It hurts. It really hurts, but Ohio St has the biggest chip on their shoulder right now.

BCS Bowl Predictions

1) Rose Bowl USC vs Illinois

IMO, the Illini do NOT belong in this bowl game. But since it is tradition that the Big 10 and the Pac 10 play in this game, we must adhere to it. This game is not even close, not even a little bit.

USC 50 Illinois 19

2) Sugar Bowl Hawaii vs Georgia

Georgia Head Coach Mark Richt has stopped whining about not being in the Title Game, but had better not overlook Hawaii. The Bulldogs have a great running game and QB Matthew Stafford has been adapting well this season. Colt Brennan has led a potent Hawaii Run and Shoot offense, but the Warriors defense is suspect. Hawaii has always come back against their opposition-but they are playing an SEC team, not La Tech or lowly Washington

Georgia 42 Hawaii 28

3) Fiesta Bowl Oklahoma vs West Virginia

Oklahoma choked to Boise last year, but WVU is no Boise St. The Mountaineers are searching for a coach (read: Distracted!) and are listless. Oklahoma wants revenge and a motive for voters in the AP to declare them National Champs. The Sooners are playing the best out of anyone right now, and this game is the launching board for a big 2008. West Virginia hopes to NOT have Terry Bowden as its next coach.

Oklahoma 48 West Virginia 29

4) Orange Bowl Virginia Tech vs Kansas

The Hokies have had a very emotional year, as have the Jayhawks. But emotion can only carry you so far. Talent takes over in this one, as we have yet another BCS Blasting.

VT 35 Kansas 14
