Weekly Football Thoughts 9/19

Well, Michigan is 1-2, and Notre Dame is being lamented by the talking heads at ESPN. Again, where is the love for Syracuse? Here are more thoughts:

-In the Arrogant Pricks Poll (AP Poll) 6 people changed their minds and voted USC as #1 after they beat Nebraska 49-31. Maybe they stopped watching once it was 42-10?

-I take back what I said about Florida being overrated. They looked dominant in the blasting of Tennessee, and look to be the team to beat in the East. Could have LSU and Florida play twice this year.

-How lucky is it that Houston Nutt is the coach at Arkansas? LSU and now Bama fans are. You throw on 3rd down and let the clock stop? Thanks on behalf of Bama fans everywhere

-Les Miles' comments on the Pac 10 can hold weight w/ Oregon St getting pasted by Cincy and UCLA getting waxed by Utah. Let the Pac 2 Jokes commence! Whoops, forgot Oregon! Pac 3 rules!

-It seems that Oklahoma is on the road to the Big 12 title, but I still think Texas will win out. Despite close calls, the Horns have the conditioning, and the toughness to win a close game. The Sooners have had lopsided wins, and made a statement against Miami, but can they pull out a narrow win?

-Sure thing: Nebraska over Ball St. The fighting David Letterman's do not stand a chance against Big Red

-Upset alert: S. Carolina over LSU. The Gamecocks did not look good beating SC St, but LSU fans know to never doubt the Visor (Formerly Darth Visor); the current Tigers don't. If this is a close game, Spurrier can out coach Miles, so LSU better look out.

-Conference power ratings:

1) SEC
2) Big East
3) Pac 10
4) Big 12
5) ACC
6) Big 10
