Weekly report-Sept 26, 2007

-The big game is Cal vs Oregon. The Pac 10 should be all smiles, as this game should be a classic. Cal wants to take the next step, as does Oregon, and this would be a great way for either team to do it-and possibly beat USC

-Speaking of the Trojans, USC may not have such a hard schedule after all. Sure, Oregon and Cal are the highlights, but Nebraska seems shaky now after having the Fighting David Letterman's miss a FG as time expired. Notre Dame looks like crap, as does Idaho. If the Trojans get by the Pac 10 with even 1 loss (I think they MIGHT lose 1), USC gets into the National Title Game.

-So who joins them? It is b/t 5 teams now-LSU,Oklahoma, Texas,Florida and West Virginia. OU and Texas play in 2 weeks, and LSU has Florida the same day. If West Virginia can get past South Florida, the Big East is theirs-but WVU MUST be 12-0; 11-1 gets an SEC or Big 12 team in ahead of them.

-Michigan seems ot be on track, with a giant at QB. Chad Henne is ready to play, so will Lloyd Carr let him? My say is yes-but keep the leash short.

-Syracuse won! But Notre Dame gets the press. The Orange beat Louisville (has to be the most disappointing team in the country) 38-35. Yet there is concern on the ESPN over the Irish. Screw them! Go Orange!

-Note to Urban Meyer-QB Tim Tebow ran the ball 27 times against Ole Miss this past Saturday. If you want him to be healthy for the season, stop it! I do not want to see this great QB get hurt!

-Mississippi St may be the surprise team of the year. After getting it handed to them against LSU, they beat Tulane (chumps), then upset Auburn (WTF?) and beat Gardner-Webb (easier chumps). IF the Bulldogs beat the Gamecocks, at 2-1 they will be 2nd in the SEC West. Not bad for a team that many thought would be 5th or 6th in the West.

-Sure thing of the week: LSU over Tulane. No way LSU loses this game. But the uniforms LSU will wear? Yuck!

-Upset of the week: Michigan St over Wisconsin. Look out Badgers, the Spartans are playing good football, and have looked dominant in all wins. If The Citadel gave you guys problems, you are in trouble against the Spartans.

-Heisman Watch!

John David Booty, QB USC
Steve Slaton, RB West Virginia
Pat White, QB West Virginia
DeSean Jackson, WR/Ath Cal
Tim Tebow, QB Florida
